Norwegian composer Mark Rayen Candasamy was educated at the University of Lillehammer, Norwegian State Academy, Winthrop University, and University of Agder where he completed his post-graduate degree in piano performance under the guidance of pianist Tellef Juva. In South Carolina, he studied composition and Beethoven-analysis with composer Leonard Mark Lewis, and in Kristiansand with Tatjana Ristic. At Lillehammer he studied film composition under the supervision of composer Halldor Krogh.
In 2014, Candasamy was nominated for the International Film Music Critics Award (IFMCA), acknowledged for his work on the docudrama "Anne & Alet". He has composed for film actively since 2008, resulting in cinematic features, documentaries, short films, and theatre.
