Carles Cases is a world reknown Spanish musician, composer, conductor and producer born in Catalonia in 1958.
He was trained in piano and cello at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu, in harmony and piano-jazz at the Hastad Modern Music Academy, and in orchestration and composition at the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana. He was a member of Lluís Rovira's Big Band in the 1970s. In 1982, he created the Carles Cases Quartet, and performed in several musical events all over Spain, while he was a member of a string quartet as a cello player, performing classical works.
He began his career as a soundtrack and audio-visual composer in 1989 and has produced several artists' works, including Lluís Llach, Martirio, Maria del Mar Bonet and Georges Moustaki. He scored a variety of genres from drama to comedy, westerns and horror and a whole other array of genres.
